SOMETIMES; I enjoy to simply afford myself time to behold a moment or 15 minutes. I try to absorb the view as it has presented to me and sometimes I capture these with camera for sharing. let me know if you too “feel” the moment here and it lets you drift as it did for me:)

NOT just another frog!!!! from wikipedia….

Poison dart frog (also dart-poison frog, poison frog or formerly poison arrow frog) is the common name of a group of frogs in the family Dendrobatidae which are native to Central and South America. Unlike most frogs, these species are active during the day and often have brightly-colored bodies. Although all wild dendrobatids are at least somewhat toxic, levels of toxicity vary considerably from one species to the next and from one population to another. Many species are critically endangered. These amphibians are often called “dart frogs” due to the Amerindians‘ indigenous use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of blowdarts.[2] Actually, of over 175 species, only three have been documented as being used for this purpose (curare plants are more commonly used), and none come from the Dendrobates genus, which is characterized by the brilliant color and complex patterns of its members.[3][4]

Natures Whims

This moment existed, this moment had a fragrance of moisture in the air, this moment made me feel like I was standing inside the best theatre in the world watching a movie unfold before me, this moment made me stop in my tracks and be captivated by nature in motion, this moment has been unfolded many times in many places with many eyes to watch the action.

Though it canceled all the rattling going on in my brain, it instilled upon me a time of observance, I was connected to this view as though it were a song playing to which I knew the words and yet like a favorite melody I stood in awe to hear, to see, to smell, to feel, to touch this moment of time and place.

A gift in my hands, the camera to record this memory in my minds eye forever and ever. I was at the place, was with the equipment, was willing and available, was observing only what centuries upon centuries all have cherished before me.

Now with time passed since this moment I have the rattle of my brain once again asking, will this, can this possibly last forever and ever in real life, in nature as it is before me today? Is this possibly a luxurious image of a time and place where mankind has not yet destroyed its return in the future? No oil? No lack of oxygen? No testament to mankinds greed and ignorance.

I do know, when I return to look at this image I get the original contemplative missionary like calm and sense to understand and learn and know of things larger and more powerful than the minds of all mankind put together, imagine……

so let us all soak in the blessing of this moment , these days, and study a page in view, as though it were like a biblical setting.

I wish and pray for all peoples to have this moment of calm in their lives. That all can enjoy freely what is given us so willingly for all our pleasures.

Blessings to one and all my friends.

I find myself once again in AWE.

Whether it be the winds blowing the earth, the water filling the oceans, Sun heating the whole damn place or a view of something like this that stirs up so much imagination, it all adds up to that with this many brain cells still rambling it reminds me I’m still alive and kicking.

I remember when I was younger and took my family camping for vacations. I would look up at this vision and wonder, the same way as I do now, 35 years later. Is it the same for all of us? Do we all see and ponder at least momentarily when we see this giant watching over our planet? Is there some innate comfort in knowing this giant in front of us will come and visit almost every day of the month, sometimes being bright and bold, other times keeping half of its secrets in the dark, and other times only allowing a sliver to be seen .

Tonight I ponder the survival of this earths inhabitants that have clearly ( me included as I live here too ) driven right past all the markers/signposts along the way that say…watch for falling objects, no edge on this road, single roadway only or any number of indicators revealing changes that if not noted will be dangerous and or even deadly……but we have continued to drive onward…seemingly blindly.

The latest information of the vast oil spewing from the failed horizon oil rig project is now being reported to be entering the likelihood of contaminating the entire eastern north American seaboard and may not stop there. Devastation will over rule countless hopes and attempts to capture the oil field and quite possibly may even be unstoppable until the breach in the oil reserve beneath the earths crust has emptied itself entirely…..what a thought !!!!!! I need not list all the ramifications of not following the signs, of persistently driving too fast, of recklessly and purposefully steering towards the danger as if we cared not if there were no tomorrow.

I can only gaze into the view I see when looking at our closest friendly giant and wonder, do the leaders of we complacent pebbles of sand realize their results from the actions they chose?

Pointing fingers I’m not trying to do as it will solve nothing. Instead I will concentrate on becoming like my friendly giant with a balanced 1/2 full or 1/2 empty view, and journey forward so as to unveil what tomorrow will bring.

Blessings and hope to all.

Recently I helped friends walk along their roads and assist with keeping balance between the devil within them and the challenge of staying on course with good over evil.

I see Nature and the winds and rains or other forces that sweep in and take the life away from some of Natures populous.  The same forces can bring new life  to others.

I recently learned that the oceans existing on the planet earth have only 5% that have been explored with any detail!!! But we have names for the pockets / lines/ and craters on the Moon ?????

I wonder at many things now I have reached the midway ish point in the average span of years tallied to be statistically accepted as midway ish of life. I’ll bet those at this point or later ( or earlier !) have also wondered why there best friend they grew up with has an illness that could kill them at any given moment and why it could be that I/we do not have that illness.

We all breath the air, drink the liquids, walk through hours/days /weeks………

I give of my time to be supportive in the hours of need to those whom I can.
I offer friendship where it has all but gone from their lives.
I create a moment or two where laughter, my antidote for them, can be shared.
I give thanks to my creator for so powerfully building my structure and providing
so many blessings for me to share and be ever so grateful to have been given.

So without the mechanics of math but instead with a wand of Love and life’s lessons learned, I extend myself to touch the hearts of those in my paths. Attempting to promote good and do our best to shun the winds when they blow with a cutting edge, stay warm when  penetrating freezing air surrounds our bones or the rains douse our existing thoughts.

We then form new patterns and understandings. new memories.

But remember,

NATURE AS SEEN HERE IN THESE PHOTOS, ALWAYS WINS .

Enthusiasm for Photography

here in the freezing temperatures, an enthusiast for photography is making their way along a shoreline path to capture a gem . The heavy fog all day long made imaginations soar and from time to time, provided images only rarely viewed.

For myself, I find the greatest amount of pleasures in the seeking of the next opportunity from behind the lens. Interestingly, until it finds its way to my computers monitor, I never really know for certain what opportunity is held within the layers of any given moment.

In a certain way it is comparitive to a radio. The radio has many many different frequencies from which we can turn our attention and alter what it is our ears hear from different channels. Same thing with photos, we can make adjustments ( change channels) and the end result to what we see may be very different than the original moment of what we viewed in the viewfinder.

Philosophically, same as life……we embark into directions to which we think we know where we will arrive. Needless to say, while many journeys do actually materialize in ways to what we invisioned, there are also many to which we embark but never arrive at the initially anticipated destination. Instead we are shown new views, ones that could never have been imagined as they had not yet occured in a 2D plane. Sometimes we see past the moment, a split of time it could be said. Of any given second in time we have the option to “change channels” and be immersed to an alternate understanding of that same moment, a parrellel channel you could say….and whats more…..you can choose to alter that channel as many times as you wish to arrive at infinite channels.

You as a photographer, build frames of 2D planes, a record of one channel of one fleeting moment…for others to see and become “tuned into” a channel that has already past for some but is yet to be “listened to” by others.

with the close of another calender year, I’m thankfull for all the gifts of wisdom, the teachings provided, the strength to continue stepping forward, and friends and family. Yes, much thankfullness!!

My wish for 2010 is for all the world to connect with an enthusiasm for harmony, to create the moments, the journeys that will benefit all peoples of all nations and not only for a select few. To have a connection of sorts that is as strong as the flowing magma at the core of the earth that can appear at any part of the world. The kind of power to which we are all attached to while inhabiting this planet, universal understanding…….

photography!
